SALARY IN HUNGARY COMPARED TO OTHER EUROPEAN COUNTRIES

 Income factor:

In some neighboring countries of Hungary, individuals with residence permits and valid work permits working in authorized places can receive a net salary between 1200-1800 EUR or higher (e.g., automobile assembly factories). Currently, obtaining a D visa for both unskilled and skilled labor from Vietnam directly to these countries is very difficult.

In other European countries, those with residence and work permits can earn a net salary between 2000-3000 EUR or more. However, obtaining a D visa for unskilled labor in these countries is currently very difficult, while it is easier for skilled workers with experience. Language proficiency (A1 or B2 certificates) is often a significant barrier for visa approval.

For those working without valid residence or work permits, the income can be much higher (as they avoid paying taxes or work in unauthorized jobs). However, these individuals face significant risks such as fines, lack of health insurance, and unstable jobs.

In Hungary, legal workers in general labor can receive a net salary between $700 to $2500 per month depending on skill level, work effort, and job type. Skilled workers (e.g., tailors, TIG welders, pipe welders) can earn between $1000 to $2500 per month after taxes.

 Legal documentation factor: There is a significant gap between those with legal residence documents and those without.

Legally working individuals receive acceptable income levels, can stabilize their lives, bring their families for reunification, and integrate into Hungarian society for long-term residency. Their lives are peaceful, with the ability to travel across Europe and visit Vietnam easily.

On the other hand, undocumented workers often aim to earn money quickly regardless of consequences. If caught, they might try to bypass laws or face deportation to Vietnam. Their lives are stressful, and travel within Europe or returning to Vietnam is difficult.

  Moral and consequential factor:

The fact that a number of Vietnamese people have gone abroad and then fled and illegally resided and worked will cause difficulties for those who are still in the country and want to apply for a D visa to work in Hungary in particular and Europe in general. The fact that European countries (Germany, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, etc.) have tightened visa issuance for Vietnamese people is an inevitable consequence of this problem. The first to do it, the next to suffer the consequences. Currently, Hungary is still open to granting work visas to Vietnamese people, but this door is gradually narrowing.
